Patricia S. Hoover, age 83 of Christiana, passed away at Newport Meadows on Sunday, January 19, 2025. She was the wife of Richard E. "Dick" Hoover with whom she celebrated 64 years of marriage on June 18th. She was born in Christiana, daughter of the late George & Edith Bush Shivery. She was an active member of the Christiana United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher. . In the past she had worked at Harrison House of Christiana. She graduated from Octorara High School. Pat loved Jesus, her family and flowers. She used her God-given talent to grow the most beautiful flowers in her garden. Many people, family and friends alike received lovely arrangements, whether for special occasions, under the weather, or just because the joy of her savior overflowed. Pat also found great joy in spending time with her family, especially enjoyed vacationing with her husband, children and grandchildren. Surviving besides her husband are 2 children: George husband of Leisa Robinson Hoover of Kinzers, Lori Lundy Morrow wife of Matthew Morrow of Quarryville, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother Gerald Shivery.
Funeral service will take place from Shivery Funeral Home, 111 Elizabeth Street, Christiana, on Thursday, January 23rd, at 11 a.m., with a viewing time from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in the Georgetown Methodist Cemetery.
