Kevin M. Oakes, Sr.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Kevin M. Oakes, Sr. age 68 of Lancaster, PA who passed away at his home on Sunday, June 22, 2025.  He was the husband of Eileen Oakes and lived in Quarryville, PA for 39 years.  Kevin was born on March 3rd, 1957 in Springfield, PA to the late John and Nancy Oakes. He graduated from Bishop Shanahan High School in 1975 as class president and went on to lead the Waste Water Treatment Department in the Borough of West Chester as superintendent. He spent time working in a nursing home and as a caretaker; he always found much happiness in taking care of others. Kevin was involved in his community and served as the Solanco Little League President for many years. In his free time, he was passionate about spending time with his family, caring for his pets, cooking, Philly sports, Nascar, classic rock and the simple joys of nature. Throughout his life he embodied selflessness and love, always putting others before himself. His joy for life left a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.  He is survived by his wife Eileen, his four children: Patrick (Bernadette), Jennifer (Luke), Kevin and Katie (Drew) and his grandchildren; Lily, Luke Jr., Leo, Lucy, Elliott and Hayden; along with his siblings; Kathy (Shelly), Colleen (Tom), Patrick (Sue), Terry, Timothy (Sally) Oakes and Joseph (Kelly.)  He was preceded in death by his siblings, John Oakes, Nancy Hegarty and Michael Oakes.

Relatives and friends of Kevin are invited to his visitation on Friday, June 27th at 10 a.m at Saint Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church, 955 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, PA followed by a mass at 11:00 a.m. where Reverend Ryan Fischer will be officiating.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Kevin's honor to the Solanco Little League, 1070 Kirkwood Pike, Quarryville,PA 17566
