Janet C. Williams

Janet C. Williams, age 82 of Atglen, passed away peacefully at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community on Friday, March 20, 2026. She was the beloved wife of Herman R. Williams with whom she celebrated 63 years of marriage on September 22nd.  She was born in Coatesville, daughter of the late Robert W. & Clara McGinnis Bonsall.  Janet was a self employed  hairdresser in Atglen for 18 years and then worked at Heartstrings Children's  Clothing for 12 years.  She graduated from Octorara High School class of 1961 and Bryland Institute for Hairdressing.  Known affectionately as Mommom, she enjoyed her grandchildren the most, never missing a sporting or school event.  She also enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking,hosting holidays and her golden retrievers. Surviving beside her husband are 2 children: Kristin Lawrence of Atglen, Jamie Williams of Florida, 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 siblings: Emma Katherman of Ephrata, Fred McGinnis of Altoona, PA.  She was preceded in death by a son Michael S. Williams, 2 siblings: Robert E. Bonsall and Patricia A. Summers.

A viewing time will take place at  Shivery Funeral Home, 111 Elizabeth Street, Christiana, PA, on Saturday, March 28th from 10 to 11 a.m.  A graveside service will take place following the viewing time at the Penningtonville Presbyterian Cemetery, Atglen, PA.
