Wilma R. Lintner

Wishes do sometimes come true! Wilma R. Lintner (Omie) waited ten years on this earth for hers to be fulfilled. She has now finally joined Bob (Happy) in Heaven. Omie and Happy moved from Lampeter to Landis Homes in 1999, where she resided until November 18, 2016.
Omie was born January 23, 1928 to Goldie D. (Naylor) and Amos J. Wanner in Strasburg, PA. After graduating from West Lampeter High School in 1946, she worked a few years at Rodda candy factory and an umbrella factory in Lancaster until her marriage and family became her life. Definitely against her better judgement, her final career was being drafted into service as the backup innkeeper for Hillside Farm Bed and Breakfast.
Two of her favorite lifelong pastimes were square dancing and roller skating. It was on the roller rink at Rocky Springs Park where she met Pop and started their 57 year journey, until Happy passed away in 2006. For most of her life, she dearly loved white kitty cats and jigsaw puzzles.
Omie is-survived by two 'monkeys', Gary (Ann) of Mount Joy, and Douglas (Gloria) of Shoeneck. She is also survived by seven grandchildren along with five great grandchildren. (All the grandchildren called her Omie and Bob was Happy, but to her monkeys, they were Maw and Pop). Besides her parents and husband, Maw was preceded in death by her only sibling, Goldie Book of Strasburg.
She was a member of the Willow Street United Church of Christ since 1959. She was also a member of several square dance clubs over the years.
Maw, we miss your homemade potato salad and Christmas cookies. Say hello to Pop, rest well, and we will be along for supper by precisely 5pm someday.
