William R. Thomas, age 76 of Coatesville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 8, 2026.  He was the husband of Nancy Craig Thomas, with whom he celebrated 56 years of marriage on July 18th.  He was born in Ridgway, PA, son of the late William H. & Christine L. Charlesen Thomas.  He was a partner at Gateway Church of Parkesburg.  Bill loved spending time in the Word of God and taught a young adult Sunday School class for many years.  He attended West Chester University for two years and then Widener University, graduating with an associate degree.  He served in the Marine Corps and was awarded meritorious promotion to sergeant after 18 months in the service.  Bill loved hunting and fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.  Surviving besides his wife are two children, Craig, husband of Michelle Saunders Thomas of Linden, VA; and Jennifer, wife of Jonathan Mikesell of Coatesville; three grandchildren, Autumn Thomas, Matthew Mikesell and Ally Mikesell; two sisters, Nancy Giancola of Downingtown and Chris Seiler of New York.

A celebration of Bill's life will take place at Gateway Church, 160 Cowan Road, Parkesburg, PA, on Saturday, January 17th at 11 a.m., with a time to greet the family following the service.   Pastor Jonathan Damon will be officiating.  Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Gateway Church.
