William S. Perdue - "Gone Fishing"

William S. Perdue, 77, of Dry Wells Road, Quarryville, PA passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, September 16, 2022.  He and his wife Ruth Hensel Perdue celebrated 56 years of marriage.  Born in Sabine, WV he was the son of the late Woodrow "Wilson" and Dema Mae McMillian Perdue.

He retired from Lukens Steel Company where he had been employed as a grinder.

A proud US Army veteran, he served his country honorably during the Vietnam War.

He was a life member of Quarryville VFW and the Steelworkers Union.

He enjoyed fishing, doing puzzles, but most of all he enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving beside his wife Ruth are 4 children, Mellissa Perdue of AL, Michelle (Will) Jenkins of Ephrata, Tiffany (Charles) Santiago of Quarryville, Scott (Leslie) Perdue of Quarryville; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a brother Charlie (Ginny) Perdue; and 2 sisters, Louise Heath and Rita Denny.

A graveside service will be held at Oxford Cemetery, 220 North Third Street, Oxford PA on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 10:00AM.
