William C. "Bill" McComsey, 75, formerly of Quarryville, died of natural causes on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at his residence in Rising Sun, MD.
Bill was born in Coatesville, PA a son of the late Harold and Mildred Mary Rissinger McComsey.He was the husband of the late Judith E. Simpson McComsey who died April 13, 2008.
Bill retired from Parkesburg Acme Markets after 40 years of service.
He enjoyed the Pittsburgh Steelers, motorcycling, fishing, golf, his friends at the Gap VFW and the Rising Sun American Legion, and good food.He was a member of the Ancient Order of Croaking Frogs, the Loyal Order of Moose #297, and VFW Post #8185.
A sincere thank you to those that provided transportation to the grocery store, bank, and medical appointments and those that took Bill out to dine and provided homemade meals.
Bill is survived by a son William Clyde McComsey; a daughter Teri L. McComsey; two step daughters Denise Eller and Danette (Denley) Brown; three brothers John McComsey of Denver, PA, Robert McComsey of Kennett Square, and Harold McComsey of Roanoke, VA.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Judy; a step-daughter Dawn; a sister Mildred Sult; and a brother Charles McComsey.
