William Lewis Keays, Sr. of Lancaster, PA passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at his home in Nickel Mines. At 92, he was happily married to Hortense "Tensie" Eichelberger Keays for 66 years.Bill was blessed with three children, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.As a WWII veteran, he served from 1942-45 aboard the USS Thorn in the Pacific theatre.He was an alum of McCaskey High (class of '41) and Millersville State Teachers College (class of '49) where he graduated in Industrial Arts.He taught and coached sports in Stowe, PA before taking up a career as a sales engineer for farm equipment and building supplies.For years, he served on the Solanco School board, the Bart Township Planning Commission and was a founding member of Norman's Mormons.Bill was an active member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 40 East Main Street, Strasburg where a service will be held on Friday, December 11th , 2015 at 4:00 PM. No burial will be held, as his wish was to donate his body to the Humanity Gifts Registry.The family asks that In lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Solanco Education Foundation at 121 S.
