William A. Henry, 62, of Marticville Road, Pequea, PA died unexpectedly of natural causes on Monday, May 12, 2014 at Lancaster General Hospital.
He and his wife, Cyndy M. Yoder Henry were married for 37 years.He was born in Providence Township, a son of the late Norman and Naomi M. Swartz Henry.
Mr. Henry was employed as the HVAC manager for Energy Works at Park City for 41 years.He also worked as a tombstone and monument setter for the Original I. Diller Miller Company, Quarryville.
A Vietnam veteran, William served in the US Navy on the USS Juneau. He received both the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnamese Service Medal.
He was a former member of VFW, Manor Post #7294. Mr. Henry's enjoyments were his 4 grandchildren who were the "apples of his eye", and his two dogs, Sweet Pea and Teddy Bear.
Surviving beside his wife are two sons, William A. (Jessica) Henry of Trumbull, CT, J. Daniel (Ronda) Henry of Pequea; 4 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Norm Henry of Drumore, Ken Henry of Frogtown, Rand E. Henry of Nottingham; and 2 foster sisters, Tina Westman and Tammy Schmid.
A memorial service will be held at Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, 673 Martic Heights Drive, Pequea on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 11:00AM with Rev. D. Chandler Evans officiating. There will be a visitation at the church from 10:00AM until the time of service.
