Warren G. High, 91, formerly of Lampeter, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at Landis Homes. He was the husband of the late Doris Deiter High who passed away on May 16, 2019. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Daniel W. and Nora Becker High.
Warren had been employed as a truck driver for High Steel Industries for 25 years, and in retirement for Zimmerman’s Hardware Store for 12 years.
He was an active member of Strasburg Mennonite Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for 6 years, Trustee for 6 years, and sang in the Strasburg Mennonite Quartet for 16 years.
He was a man of faith who loved his family, golfing, hunting, and singing! He was also an avid traveler, who along with his wife, Doris, visited 49 of the 50 states, including driving the entire trip to Alaska and home.
Warren is survived by a daughter Carol A. wife of Darell L. Dombach of Willow Street, and a son in law Jerry L. Engel of Christiana; 6 grandchildren, Nicholas Engel, husband of Abigail (Sparrow), Jessmin (Engel), wife of Jared Snader, Jordan Engel, husband of Becky (Harper), Janae (Dombach), wife of Andy Snyder, Travis Dombach, husband of Hannah (Kauffman), and Erin (Dombach), wife of Zach Danehower; 13 great grandchildren; siblings, J. Curvin husband of Peggy High of Lancaster, Pauline wife of Donald Winters of Lititz, Rhoda wife of Arthur Yost of Lititz, Lorrie wife of Steve Stoltzfus of East Petersburg; and a sister in law Alice High of Willow Street.
Preceding in death beside his wife is a son J. Marlin High and a daughter Nancy J. Engel, and a brother Carl High.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Manheim House at Landis Homes for their love and care for Warren over these last 6 years.
A Memorial Service will also be held at Strasburg Mennonite Church, on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 4:00 PM with Pastors John Meck and Clifford Horst officiating. The service will be live streamed at strasburgmennonite.org. Visitations will be held at the church on Sunday, August 23, 2026 from 3:30-5:00 PM and again on Monday from 3:00 PM until the time of service. Contributions may be made in Warren’s memory to Landis Homes – Benevolence Fund, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA 17543. Arrangements entrusted to Murray A. Miller.
