Virginia F. Abel

Virginia F. Abel, 88, of Quarryville, PA, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2017 at St Anne's Retirement Community, Lancaster, PA.She was the wife of Richard A.Abel.They would have celebrated 66 years of marriage on February 3, 2017.

Born in Lancaster, Virginia was a daughter of the late Frank and Charlotte Tregessor Flick.
She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Quarryville.Virginia was a past member of Quarryville Soroptomist Club and had volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Above all else, she was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother to her family.Her sense of humor was always welcomed by her friends and family.

In addition to her husband Richard, she is survived by 5 children, Constance Peiffer (Kent), New Providence, Richard Abel, Jr., (Chris), Quarryville, Susan Parker (Sam), Wachapreaque, VA, Robert Abel (Julie), Enola, John Abel, Hummelstown, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a brother, Ed Flick, York.She was predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth Fuhrmann.

Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, January 19, 2017, 11:00 A.M., at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 955 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, PA with Reverend Mark Speitel as celebrant.Final commendation and farewell in St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends at a reception at St. Catherine of Siena following the graveside service.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.Arrangements entrusted to Reynolds Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA. www.reynoldsfuneralhome.net.
