Theda M. Groff, 90, recently of Country Meadows, Lancaster and formerly of Strasburg, PA died Monday, December 22, 2014 at St. Anne's Retirement Community, Columbia, PA.She was the widow of Maurice W. "Groffie" Groff who died April 28, 2001.Theda was born in Strasburg, a daughter of the late William F. and Florence Evans Myers.
Theda operated several gift shops in the area for many years and then owned and operated her own floral shop. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Paradise, PA, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the former Paul R. Strubel Post 7810, VFW, Strasburg.
She enjoyed playing cards and doing all types of needlepoint.
Surviving her are 3 children, Larry W. (Marla Pressler) Groff of Willow Street, Karen M. (R. Eugene) Mitchell of Strasburg, Jolene G. Brill of Mountville; 3 granddaughters; 5 great grandchildren; and a sister Arlene Ressler of New Holland.
She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Edith Veith and Mildred Singer.
Funeral services will be held at Reynolds Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Friday, December 26, 2014 at 2:00PM with Rev. Mark Kopp officiating. Traditional interment will follow in Kinzers Mennonite Cemetery.
