Susan C. Harnish

Susan C. Harnish, age 68, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026. She was born in Lancaster, daughter of the late V. Merrill and Thomasine Donnelly Carter. She is survived by 3 children: Justin husband of Kelly Harnish of Holtwood, Jaime wife of Justin Sheaffer of Strasburg, Andrea wife of String Lutz of Quarryville, 6 grandchildren, and 2 siblings: Wanda wife of John Findley of Quarryville and Linda wife of the late Darryl Howard of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by a brother Vern Carter. She will be remembered for her enormous heart, fierce love for her family, and ability to make everyone around her laugh. She was truly one of a kind, and there was never a dull moment when you were around her. She cherished her children and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, making memories they will carry with them forever. She had a deep love for rock and roll, especially Aerosmith. Her warmth, humor, unforgettable personality, and unconditional love touched so many lives. Funeral service will take place from Reynolds and Shivery Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, on Friday, September 25th at 11 am with a viewing from 10-11am. Interment will follow in Middle Octorara Cemetery.
