With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Stephanie J. Hassell, age 52, of Lancaster, on Friday, February 7, 2025. Soul mate of 14 years and beloved fiancee' to Jason Barr, of New Providence, she treasured her role as a mother to Jason's children, Cameron and Alivia.  Born in Elizabeth City, NC, she was the daughter of Jeff and Barbara Thompson (Mummert) of Gordonville.  She also was a beloved bonus daughter to James and Susie Barr of New Providence.  She was a beloved sister to Kristin Thompson, of Virginia, and Jeffrey Thompson, II, of Gordonville, as well as an adored aunt to Oliver and Nicholas.  Many aunts and uncles, friends, co-workers, and employees cherished her.  She graduated from Pequea Valley High School, class of 1991, and was employed for 28 years at Burlington Stores, enjoying her most recent role as district manager.  In her free time, Stephanie loved traveling, taking care of her pets, and most of all enjoying time, meals, and games with her family.
