Stanley E. Kreider, 92, a resident at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community and formerly of 1325 Robert Fulton Highway, peacefully entered his eternal home July 4, 2014.He had been married for 67 years to Mildred Sowers Kreider who passed away in 2010.
Stanley was a son of the late Harry E. and Emma Pfautz Kreider.He graduated from Drumore High School.He was a life-long, active member of Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren and also a member of Wakefield Lions Club.Stanley farmed at Drumore Center until he and Mildred retired to live in Mechanic Grove.His interests included family, friends, playing softball and golf, singing, watching sports on TV, and being a dedicated helper and a generous giver.
Survivors include four daughters, Lucille Wenger (Glenn) of New Providence, Doris Snyder (the late Thomas), Quarryville, Carol Kreider (William Randle) of Denver, Nancy Kreider (Dr. Robert Lane) of Philadelphia; 9 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sisters, Sara Koser of Elizabethtown, Betty Griffith of Willow Valley; a brother- in- law John Hagen of Parkesburg; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by the following siblings, Earl, Clyde, Marie Heller, Lena, Leon, John, a stillborn brother Everett, and Bonnie Hagen.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren, 1392 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, PA on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 10:30AM with Pastor James H. Rhen officiating. A visitation will follow immediately after the service.A traditional burial will be private.Please omit flowers.
