Shirley A. Musacchio

Shirley A. Musacchio, 83, passed away at St. Anne's Retirement Community, West Hempfield Twp., on Monday, October 31, 2016 with her family present. She was the loving wife of the late Antonio A. Musacchio for 18 yrs. prior to his passing in 2003. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Mary Emma (Rhoades) Shenk.
She attended school through the ninth grade, working during war time to help her
family. She was employed at the former Hubley's Toys and the Little Britain Elementary School, Solanco School District. Most of her life Shirley was a loving mother and homemaker to her family. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Quarryville, PA. She served on Parish Council and supported St. Anne School while a member at St. Anne's Church, Lancaster. She was a member of Selinsgrove Parent & Friends Assoc, VOR (Voice of the Retarded,) striving to make life better for special need families and that of her own son. She enjoyed cooking for family gatherings, crosswords, solitaire on the tablet, listening to music and going to the beach.
Shirley is survived by her three children: Trudy L. (James 0.) Sheetz, Quarryville, John R. Church, Jr., Selinsgrove, PA, Wendy L. (David F.) Nichols, Mill Creek, PA. and three stepchildren: Anthony Musacchio, Janet Musacchio, Diane Tracy. Sisters, Betty Wise, Georgette Rhinier, Roxanne Galeschweski, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a niece and two nephews & their families. Preceding her in death were: brothers, Richard J. Lapham, Ill, Charles Rittenhouse, and sisters: Mary Mellinger, Anna Giordano, Nancy Urban and nephew Richard J. Lapham, IV.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11 AM Saturday, November 5, 2016 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, with Rev. Mark Speitel as Celebrant. Visitation will be held 10-11 AM
