Shirley H. Kirk

Shirley H. Kirk, age 98, passed away at the Lancaster General Hospital on Friday, June 12, 2026. She was born in Bryn Mawr, PA, the only child of James and Lydia Wilds of Wayne, PA. During WWII, Shirley was employed as a secretary for the Signal Corps Inspection Agency in Philadelphia. For the next 20 years she worked for KVP Paper Company in Devon as a secretary until they closed in 1967. Her final job before she retired was working for the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District in Berwyn for 22 years. She held many positions there such as teacher's aide, payroll clerk, purchasing clerk and secretary. She lived with her husband of 66 years Ellwood "Woody" Kirk for 21 years at Willow Valley North before his death September 28, 2014. Her hobbies were reading, playing Bridge and cat sitting for many of the residents at Willow Valley. At her request the interment will be private in the Willow Street UCC Cemetery. Shirley's friends will remember her with love, as always being good spirited, bright and quick to laugh. She will be dearly missed.
