Obituary

Selma Gillott, 67, of Mt. Joy, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Guy Watson and Sarah Emma (Swift) Watson.

Selma worked for many years as a bank teller, where she was known for her friendly smile and warm, welcoming nature. She was a strong and devoted woman whose greatest purpose in life was caring for her family. More than anything, she wanted the people she loved to feel safe, supported, and happy. She did everything she could to make sure everyone around her was okay—often putting their needs before her own.

She found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved celebrating holidays, making special moments out of ordinary days, and spending time tanning whenever she could. Anyone who knew Selma knew how important her bangs were to her—they were truly her signature. She carried herself with strength, kept a smile on her face, and had a heart always focused on making sure others were happy.

She is survived by her daughter, Trisha Gillott, and her partner, Justin Kucharik, of Pottstown; her son, Cody Batory, and his longtime partner, Dominique Clark, of New Jersey; and her three sisters, Della McMillen of Holtwood, Lucy Hartsoe of Pequea, and Susie Devonshire of Holtwood.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Janet Blevins, Peggy Watson, Nancy Ortiz, and Alice Reinhart; and by her brother, George Watson.

A graveside service will be held at Middle Octorara Cemetery, 1199 Valley Rd Quarryville, PA 17566 on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 2 p.m.
