Sara Pearson, 21, of Vacaville, CA, surrounded by her family, passed away on July 10, 2016, at Santa Clara Medical Center in Santa Clara, California, after a life-long battle with heart failure. Born on July 18, 1994, she was the daughter of Dorothy Jean (Hess) Pearson, formerly of Lancaster, and the late Alvah Leonard Pearson. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a sister, Natalie Pearson-Heiser, age 24, and brother-in-law Jason Heiser, of Portland, Oregon; a step-sister Allison Pearson Anderson and brother-in-law Jason Anderson, of Vacaville, CA; nephews Jaylen and Jackson Anderson; uncles and aunts, Ira & Sandra Pearson of Spokane, WA; Anne Stoltzfus of Harrisonburg, VA; Richard & Mary Ann Hess, Donald & Janet Hess, Sally Jo Hess, and Jim & Joan Hess, all of Lancaster. In addition to her father, Sara was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Ira & Ann Pearson of California, and Charles & Alverna Hess of Lancaster, PA.
Sara was the recipient of a heart transplant in January 2014 and battled several bouts of rejection. However, she enjoyed life to the fullest and would light up the room wherever she went. She greatly valued her relationships with family and friends, and most of all, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As a young teen, Sara was privileged to be a recipient of Make - A-Wish Foundation which provided her with a dream trip to Disney World in Florida and a Disney Cruise. Sara was a graduate of the Youth Ministry Leadership Program at The Father's House in Vacaville, CA. She also spent the last five months enrolled in a Discipleship Training class and Ministry Internship with The Rock Church in Anaheim, CA. Sara was an encourager and spent a lot of time listening to youth and encouraging them in their faith. She had more than 3,000 followers on her "Sara's Heart" blog. Sara enjoyed going to the beach, hanging out with friends, traveling to Lancaster to visit relatives, listening to music, and writing. Sara is deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Sara's family visitation on Sunday, October 9, 2016, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the Agape Room at Mellinger Mennonite Church, 1916 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster.
