Sandra (Sandy) Marie D'Amico Marshall, 77, of Quarryville, PA passed away peacefully on October 22, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 18, 1949, in Wilmington, Delaware, Sandy was known for her unwavering dedication to her family, her profession, and the many simple joys that brought her happiness.
Sandy devoted 23 years of her career to Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, where she served as a second-shift Nursing Supervisor. Her compassion, leadership, and commitment to caring for others left a lasting impression on both the residents she served and the colleagues who worked alongside her.
Outside of nursing, she found happiness in reading, tending to her flowers and plants, staying active through power walking, and listening to her favorite artists such as Rod Steward, Barry Manilow, Whitney Houston, and Tina Turner. She also enjoyed shopping, spending time on the water either at the boat, relaxing at the beach, or by a pool. Sports were a big part of Sandy’s life - she loved cheering on her favorite sports teams. A devoted fan of Eagles, Ravens, Phillies and Notre Dame, game days were always something to look forward to. More than any hobby or pastime, however, Sandy's greatest joy came from her family. Whether celebrating holidays, gathering for special occasions, or simply spending time together, she treasured every moment with those she loved. Her kindness, strength, generous spirit, and unwavering love have shaped the lives of her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
Sandy is survived by her loving partner and companion of 26 years Donald (Don) Sams; her children, Elizabeth (Beth) Marshall, James (Jim) Marshall III, and Daniel (Dan) Marshall; her cherished grandchildren, Claire Marie Marshall and Braylin Elizabeth Biddiscombe; her brother, Ron D'Amico and sister-in-law, Nan Maxwell; many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends - all of whom held a special place in her heart. Sandy is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Gloria D’Amico.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community and Willow Tree Hospice for their exceptional care and support. To know Sandy was to know someone who always put family first, offered a helping hand without hesitation, and found happiness in life's simple pleasures. Sandy's legacy will live on in the lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Sandy's memory by spending time with those you love, planting some flowers, cheering on your favorite team, or performing an act of kindness for someone in need.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
