Ryan Lee Leik, age 59, of Newark, Delaware went home to be with the Lord on March 18, 2025 after a short battle with cancer. He was the husband of Janet Mettler for nearly 10 years. Born on May 14, 1965 in Reading, PA, Ryan was the eldest child of Barb Young Orsag (Jim) and the late Raymond Leik. Ryan worked for JMS Construction as a driver and framer for 19 years. He enjoyed building and doing carpentry work. Whatever project he was working on, whether on a job site or in his home, he put his heart into his work. Ryan will be remembered for his sweet generous spirit along with his willingness to help others in any way he could. He was the big brother to Sherry and Scott and 5 years ago he was excited to be reunited with his younger sister, Kristine, who he had been separated from since the age of 7, as a result of adoption. An added bonus was finding his foster sister, Beverly and being reunited with her family again. Ryan loved and enjoyed spending time with his family especially when they were able to go camping and he was able to go fishing accompanied by his mini labradoodle, Ginger. Ryan is predeceased by his first wife, Joyce (Miller) and his son Matthew. Surviving besides his wife, Janet, is his son Chris of Quarryville, daughters Ashleigh Mettler and Nicole Mettler of Newark, Delaware. His siblings Sherry Groff (Donald) of Mount Joy, Scott Valentino of Provincetown, MA, Kristine Rickards (James) of Port Jervis, NY and Beverly Allen (Ernie) of Lebanon. As well as many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews. Funeral Services will take place at Timberline Church, 30 Timber Lane, Strasburg, PA on Saturday, March 29th at 12:00 noon. Visitation with family will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be immediately following the service at Chestnut Church Cemetery, 742 S. Vintage Road, Christiana. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Timberline Church or the American Cancer Society. The family would like to extend their thanks to Accent Care Hospice in Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE for their kind care for Ryan.
