Ruth A. Denlinger, age 94 of Lititz, passed peacefully to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Landis Homes.  She was the wife of the late Daniel D. Denlinger who passed away in 1996.  Born in Gap, she was the daughter of the late Maurice S. and Mary K. Martin Hershey.  She was a member of Mellinger Mennonite Church where she was a part of the sewing circle and helped with the preschool program.  She worked as a waitress for Plain & Fancy Restaurant for 20 years and at the Bake Shop at Bird in Hand for 17 years.  In her free time, she loved flower gardening and arranging, reading and knitting.  Surviving are 3 children; Dolores A., wife of Clifford Martin of Terre Hill, Jay R., husband of Marilyn Widders Denlinger of Strasburg, Eugene "Beanie" husband of Carol Byler Denlinger of Ephrata, 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a brother; Clair, husband of Kitty Esbenshade Hershey of Litiz.  She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel L. Denlinger and 3 siblings, Glenn Hershey, Jean Groff , and Melvin J. Hershey and a grandson Jared Denlinger and a great grandson Caedmon Erb.

A funeral service will take place at Mellinger Mennonite Church, 1916 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, on Friday, December 13th at 11 a.m. with a viewing time from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.  Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ruth's honor to Landis Homes Caring Fund.
