Ruth L. Dean, 90, formerly of Strasburg, went home to her Lord and Savior at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community on Sunday, December 3, 2023. She was the loving wife of the late William A. "Bud" Dean, Jr. who died July 21, 2016. Born in East Lampeter Township she was the daughter of the late Elmer L. and Lillie Stauffer Landis.

A devoted farmer's wife and homemaker, Ruth was a member of the Farm Women Society, a 4-H Leader, and member of Calvary Church, Lancaster where she and her late husband enjoyed a close friendship with their Sunday school class. Upon retiring from Eye Associates of Lancaster, Ruth volunteered at QPRC.

An avid prayer warrior, her family was of utmost importance to her, especially her grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by 2 children, Gary husband of Joan Nissley Dean and Michelle wife of Kenneth Winters both of Strasburg; 3 grandchildren, Tiffany Dean, Amber Forney, Atalie Weaver; and 3 great grandsons.

She was preceded in death by a son Michael Dean and 2 brothers Ellis Landis and John Landis.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff of QPRC and Willow Tree Hospice for their great care.

At her request a private traditional burial will be held in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
