Ronald B. Houghton

Ronald Bernard Houghton, 79, of Christiana, PA died September 23, 2018.He was the husband of Elizabeth "Betsy" Roosevelt Houghton.Ronnie and Betsy had celebrated 56 years of marriage.
An accomplished horseman, Ronnie started training horses at the age of 19.He and Betsy established their horse training facility, Sylmar Farms, Christiana, PA, in 1970 where he had been training thoroughbreds for 42 years.In addition to training horses, he enjoyed farming and raising cattle.
Born in Burlington NJ, he was the son of the late Thomas B. and Marie Carroll Houghton.
In addition to his wife Betsy, he is survived by 4 children, Bernie (Shannon) Houghton, Christiana, Robin (Scott) Perry, Christiana, Wendy H. (Travis) Kinnamon, Kirkwood, Michael (Melissa) Houghton, Kirkwood, 11 grandchildren, and a sister Doris Green, Kennett Square.He was predeceased by a brother, Eddie Houghton.
The Houghton family would like to invite friends for an informal drop in gathering and a celebration of Ronnie's life, Sunday, October 14, 2018, from 1:00-4:00 PM. at Sylmar Farm, 151 Maple Shade Road, Christiana, PA.
