Roger J. Sheaffer, age 79 of Kinzers, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.  He was born in Lancaster, son of the late Charles A. Sr. & Elizabeth Keen Sheaffer.  He was the husband of Mildred F. "Millie" Kauffman Sheaffer with whom he celebrated 56 years of marriage on August 25th.  Roger served in the U.S. Army, 173rd Airborn Division from 1965-1967, completing a 13 month tour in Vietnam.  He worked for Chrysler Corporation of Newark, DE for 30 years retiring in 1994.  He enjoyed drag racing, NASCAR, classic cars, traveling and his little sidekick Daisy.  Surviving besides his wife is a son Rod J. Sheaffer companion of Juanita Smoker of Kinzers, 3 step grandchildren: David, Alicia & Jasmine, 3 siblings:  Virginia Garver of Paradise, Donna Meshey of Ephrata and Charles Jr. husband of Gail Sheaffer of Ronks and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a sister Anna Mary Tangert.

A graveside service will take place at the Sadsbury Friends Burial Grounds, 1089 Simmontown Road, Gap, PA, on Saturday, November 2nd at 12 Noon.  Pastor Clint Shondelmyer will be officiating.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, P.O.
