Rhoda H. Nolt

Rhoda H. Nolt, 84, formerly of Lancaster, died peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Landis Homes where she had been a resident.She was the wife of the late Joseph E. Nolt who died February 10, 2005. Born in Paradise, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Esther Burkhart Hershey.
A homemaker, Rhoda was a member of Mellinger Mennonite Church where she served on the church decorating committee, and was a member of the Christian Service Sunday school class. She was also a member of the Farm Women Society and served on the Ladies Auxiliary of the Mennonite Home.
Rhoda enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, going to their mountain cabin and the beach, especially Stone Harbor. An avid bowler, she bowled on several Lancaster County leagues at Rocky Springs, Leola, and Garden Spot Lanes.
Surviving her are four children, Joseph E. (Julia Hess) Nolt, Jr. of Lancaster, Donald K. (Tamara Nettke) Nolt of Lancaster, David K. Nolt and his companion Megan Weakly of Lone Tree, CO, Julie G. (Allen) Dise of Lititz; 7 grandchildren, Jodi Trauger, Janelle Nolt, Rhiannon Nolt, Gabrielle Nolt, Domenic Godshall, David Dise, Elana Dise; four great grandchildren, Alexis, Alyssia, Austin, Tyler; 2 sisters, twin sister Ruth (Roy) Book of Ronks, Mary (John) Darras of Leola; 3 brothers, John (Carolyn) Hershey of Quarryville, Isaac (Betty) Hershey, Jr. of AZ, and Gerald (Cherry) Hershey of NC.
Rhoda was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Evelyn Rohrer, and Miriam Herr; and a son in law Loren Godshall.
A memorial service will be held at Mellinger Mennonite Church, 1916 Lincoln Highway East Lancaster, PA on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 7:00PM with Pastor Joe Miller, Bishop Leon Oberholtzer officiating.
