Preston M.
Mowery
July 2, 2002 – June 17, 2024
On June 17, 2024, Preston M. Mowery, 21 of Gordonville, met Jesus face to face too soon for his earthly family, but the right time in God's plan – a plan we trust – even though we surely cannot understand it in this life. Preston was born in West Chester, Pennsylvania on July 2, 2002 son of Kimberly A. (Gildersleeve) Mowery of Intercourse and the late Dennis R. Mowery. He was reborn July 7, 2019 becoming a son of The Most High God.
Preston was a valued employee at Pelet Welding Inc. of Coatesville. He took pride in his work with an attention to detail second to none. In his personal life, Preston loved to be with people - whether working or playing. He could be counted on to help with any project – and was always ready to play games of all kinds - board, card, and video. Even as a young boy he was full of compassion for others - people and animals. He loved his family and was loyal to those who truly knew him best and his "Preston hugs" will be deeply missed.
Preston joined his sister Sarah J. Mowery and his father Dennis R. Mowery who met Jesus in 2008 and 2021. Surviving besides his mother are five siblings: Madeline L. Mowery of Kinzers, Stephen R. Mowery of Kinzers, Kathleen M. wife of Brandon Herman of Columbia, Jared E. Mowery and his significant other Brandi Gross of Gordonville, Nicholas R. husband of Courtney M. (Schlegel) Mowery of East Earl, five nieces: Willow, Makenna, Sienna, Jemma and Zoey, grandparents: Bill & Marilyn Gildersleeve of Fort Mohave, AZ, David & Marge Lied of Honey Brook. Preston is also survived by his girlfriend Mandi Gillich of Elkton, MD, his best friend Vincent Sides of East Earl and many other extended family and friends – and furry cat friend, "Master Diego."
Funeral service will take place at the Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren, 1392 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, PA, on Tuesday, June 25th at 12 Noon - with Pastor Beth A. Engel officiating. There will be a time to greet the family from 11 a.m. until time of service. Interment will take place following the service in the adjoining cemetery.
