Pauline B. Stoner, 92, of Lancaster Pike, Quarryville, PA went to be with her Lord on Friday morning, January 2, 2015 at Ware Presbyterian Village, Oxford, PA.
She was married for 58 years to John H. Stoner who died December 23, 2004.Pauline was born in New Providence on November 5, 1922 to the late J. Lehman and Martha R. Burkins.
Active in her church, she was a 75 year member of Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder, deacon, Sunday school teacher, and directed the Junior Choir for 30 years.
Pauline was a 1944 graduate of Millersville State Teachers College and was employed in elementary education for the Solanco School District from 1945-1978.
Mrs. Stoner served her community by participating with Meals on Wheels and as a Group Leader for 4-H.A real people person, she was active and passionate about helping others in need in her community.
She enjoyed her family, playing the piano, knitting, cooking and outdoor activities.
Surviving her is a son John B. Stoner, husband of Linda J. Stoner of Quarryville. Pauline was preceded in death by a brother Robert C. Burkins.
Funeral services will be held at Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church, 1068 Chestnut Level Road, Quarryville, PA on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 10:00AM with Rev. Dr. Michael R. Wilson officiating.Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewings will be held at the church on Tuesday from 6:30-8:30PM and again on Wednesday from 9:00AM until the time of service.
