Miller
June 7, 1941 – December 28, 2024
Pauline R. Miller, 83, of Lancaster, went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2024 following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. She was the wife of Alvin L. Miller who died in 2018. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Peter H. and Kathryn Hess Rhoads. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Pauline's life was centered around her faith, family, and community.
She was a member of Mellinger's Church where she taught Sunday school to nursery aged children for over 40 years. She was a gifted pianist, who played for church and Christmas programs.
A talented self-taught crafter, she enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Pauline was an avid reader and was part of a bowling team for 25+ years with friends. She loved to travel, especially enjoying the months spent on Marco Island, FL each winter where she shelled on the beach each day.
Pauline was known for her cooking and baking, especially her chicken pot pie and bread. Her home was a gathering place for family celebrations, particularly at Christmas and Easter where she brought everyone together with her warmth and hospitality. She hosted tea parties for friends and family and enjoyed feeding many of her children's friends over the year
Pauline is survived by two children, Karen M. wife of Jay A Garber of Lititz, Michael S. husband of Stephanie Miller of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Christopher husband of Ayushi Sanjay Garber, Jonathan Garber fiancé of Kayla Allgyer, Mark Miller, Joshua Miller; and a sister, Margaret wife of Kenneth Kauffman.
Her family extends their gratitude to all who supported and cared for her during her journey with Alzheimer's. Pauline's legacy of love and kindness will be deeply missed.
In remembrance of Pauline's love of Tea Parties, a Drop-in Afternoon Tea Themed visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 11:30AM – 2:00PM in the Fellowship Hall (Lower Level) of Mellinger Church, 1916 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA.
