Patricia A.
Lynch
March 15, 1938 – May 20, 2026
Patricia A. "Pattie" Lynch, age 88, of New Providence, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. She was the wife of John C. "Jack" Lynch whom she met in 1977 and they were married in 1981. Born in Punxstawney, she was the daughter of the late Peter Paul and Kathryn M. Sullick Kundich. She lived on a farm until the age of 4 or 5 when the family moved to Philadelphia. While on the farm, even though she had an older sister, her playmates were dogs, horses, chicks, and a wild groundhog that adopted her and would follow her around the farm whistling so her mother would know where she was. She found puppies in the woods that were actually black bear cubs. Her father picked her up and ran out of the woods before the mother bear came back. In Philadelphia, the family lived in the Saint James Parish, at 38th and Sansom. She loved basketball and was voted captain of the school team. After graduation, she and a friend volunteered for the USO and went by bus to bases and danced with the service men. She was often told she looked like Audrey Hepburn. She also volunteered with the Red Cross and worked at Mercy Hospital. Patty had a gentle spirit, never used bad language, and little things made her happy. She loved candy apples and butter pecan ice cream. All she really wanted were her friends and her health. She was preceded in death by her sister as well as her parents and she missed them terribly.
