Nancy Kurtz McGuigan, age 94 of Lancaster, formerly of New Holland and Strasburg, PA entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 17th,2026.
She was the the daughter of the late A. Ralph Kurtz and Helen (Kneip) Kurtz; also adopted daughter of Elizabeth (Betty) Johnson Kurtz. Born in Vintage, Paradise Township, Pa. Graduated from Paradise High School Class of 1949. She was married to John "Jack" McGuigan for 34 years( who proceeded her in death in January 1998).
She is survived by four children - Jeannie Ricci of Langhorne, Michael, husband of Connie Smoker of Lititz, Jill wife of David Boisvert of Lancaster and Joan McCabe, Mount Joy, four grandchildren: Gina Ricci ( Graham), Hank Ricci III (Jill),Daniel McCabe and Andrew Smoker ( Emily), five great-grandchildren: Henry Ricci IV, Enzo Ricci, Demi Ricci, Audrey and Claire Smoker. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.Nancy was preceded in death by her sister Phyllis Harsh King and son-in law Hank Ricci.
Nancy retired from Lampeter- Strasburg School District as High School cafeteria manager after 29 years. She worked at Dutch Town and Country Inn restaurant and also her father's business in Vintage.
She was a 50 plus year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg, Strasburg Senior Citizens, the former Strasburg VFW Post #8710 Ladies Auxillary and volunteered at Rezu-it shop in New Holland.
Nancy loved being with her family, attending many sporting events her grandchildren played in school and college. She enjoyed watching horse shows that her grandson participated in. Nancy loved being at Ocean City, MD and Sea Isle, NJ visits with her family. She loved carousels and rode them whenever and where ever one was available. A die hard Phillies and Flyers fan ,she loved both teams and cheered them on loud and hard for every game.
She loved and missed her faithful companions Murphy 1 ( dog of 10 years) and Murphy 2 ( pup of 8 years).
Funeral services will be held from First Presbyterian Church , 101 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA on Thursday , May 21st, 2026 at 11 am with Rev. Robert Bronkema officiating. Interment will follow in Strasburg Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 am until time of the service. Kindly omit flowers. Contributions may be made in Nancy's memory to Lighthouse Vocational Services, 144 Orlan Road, New Holland Pa 17557. Arrangements entrusted to Murray A Miller
