Mona C. Coley

Mona C. Coley, 97, of Gordonville, formerly of Cheshire and Holden, MA, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at her home.  She was the wife of the late Leslie H. Coley, Jr. who passed away on February 8, 2012.  Born in Schenectady, NY, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Lillian (Vrooman) Crisfield.

Mona graduated from Johnstown High School in New York and worked for Stanley Home Products and Dutchmaid Clothing. She was a 50-year member of the First Congregational Church of Cheshire where she served in the Ladies Aide.  She was a member of the Cheshire Women's Club, and in her free time enjoyed playing golf and bridge and doing needle work.

She is survived by three children: David Coley and his wife Vicki of Frisco, TX, James Coley and his wife Patricia of Bristol, CT and Laraine Fleurant and her husband Daniel of Gordonville, PA; four grandchildren: Matthew Coley, Timothy Coley and his wife Yasmin, William Coley and his wife Brianna, and Michelle Benoit; two great grandchildren: Victoria Coley and Devin Benoit; and five nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Carrie Coley and a brother, William Crisfield.

The family would like to thank Gwen, Cathy and the entire purple team at Hospice & Community Care for their loving care over the past two years.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 16th at the First Congregational Church, 111 Church Drive, Cheshire, CT 06410.
