Mitchell T.
Hertzler
May 3, 1979 – May 1, 2024
Mitchell T. Hertzler, age 44, of East Earl, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. He was the husband of Kathleen G. Barnes Hertzler, with whom he celebrated 18 years of marriage on August 5th. He was born in Fairview, Alberta, Canada, son of James & Faye Gehman Hertzler of Barto, PA. He graduated from Twin Valley Bible Academy class of 1998 and then Pensacola Christian College with a business degree. Mitch worked for Zook Molasses Co. of Honey Brook for 20 years, most recently as their Quality Control Manager. Mitch enjoyed sports—both watching (Go Phils!) and playing and nothing gave him greater joy than to watch his boys play the sports they love. Mitch's calm and kind demeanor earned him the title "Gentle Giant" and he truly nurtured and cared for those around him, whether his own sons or those he coached. He was the director of the Garden Spot Youth Baseball program the past 3 years and his organization and communication skills helped make that program thrive. Besides sports, Mitch enjoyed completing DIY projects around the home, was passionate about reading his Bible, and simply loved being with his family and life group family. His greatest desire through his cancer journey was to help others look to Jesus and even through his suffering, he wanted everyone to know that God is good.
Surviving besides his wife and parents are 3 sons: Ryder James age 16, Bryce Miles age 14, Mitchell Finn age 11 all at home, brother Troy husband of Ashley Kochel Hertzler of Barto, PA as well as 10 nieces and nephews.
