Mildred S. "Millie" Young, age 94, formerly of Kinzers passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Luther Acres. She was the wife of the late C. Everett Young.
She was born in New Providence, PA, daughter to the late Horace J. & Lula Conner Sheaffer. Millie was a member of Leacock Presbyterian Church for over 50 Years, serving meals, singing in the choir and participating in Women Circle. She worked at various restaurants, was a tour guide at Resslers Mill and provided transportation for the Amish community. In the past she was active in her community for many years as a member of the Kinzer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Mary Ferree Society and a Life Member of Rough and Tumble Engineers Historical Association. She was a good cook, hosting many large family holiday gatherings.
Millie is survived by 3 children: Dale Young husband of Lynda of Columbia, Kathleen Goss wife of Douglas of Willow Street, Scott Young husband of Karen of Lancaster, 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 4 siblings: Esther Wissler, Emma Acker, Everett "Tim" & Glenn Sheaffer as well as her daughter Brenda S. Grager who passed in June of 2022.
Funeral Service will take place from Leacock Presbyterian Church, 3181 Lincoln Highway East, Paradise, PA 17562 on Saturday, November 23rd at 11 AM with a viewing from 10 AM until time of service. Rev Jim Shuler will be officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Leacock Presbyterian Church.
