Michael J. Ranson, age 71, of Paradise, went Home to Jesus on Sunday, December 6, 2020. He was the husband of Teresa Brotzman Ranson, with whom he celebrated 48 years of marriage on July 1st. He was born in Philadelphia, son of the late Sarah Duffin. He was a member of Calvary Monument Bible Church, where he served as an Elder, Outreach Committee member and helped with VBS and Good News Club. He was known for being very social and treating the world as a mission field for Jesus Christ. He was a truck driver retiring from Yellow Freight in 2007. He was a paratrooper in the US Army serving during the Vietnam War. Mike enjoyed bird watching, traveling out west, football, auto racing and most of all spending time with his family and friends and especially his grandchildren. Surviving besides his wife are 3 children: John W. husband of Aida Kydykbaeva Ranson of Paradise, Erin S. wife of Brian Carson of Willow Street, Joshua M. Ranson of New Providence, 8 grandchildren: Michaela, Emily, Destiny, Carol, Michael, Cameron, Nicole and Madison; 3 brothers: William husband of Nancy Simpson St. John of Atglen, James husband of Christie Meshey St. John of Ronks, Joseph husband of Cynthia Myer Ranson of Charleston, IL. He is also survived by his in-laws Al and Sandy Bernstorf of Strasburg. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Margaret Benner and Sheila Walton.
A memorial service will take place at Calvary Monument Bible Church, 1660 Mine Road, Paradise on Saturday, December 12, at 11 a.m. Inurnment service will take place in the adjoining cemetery. Family will greet guests outside following the graveside service. Those in attendance will be required to wear a mask and social distance. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Shivery Funeral Home to assist the Ranson family with funeral expenses. The service will be live streamed on
