Michael C. Hastings

Michael C. Hastings, 62, of Holtwood, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 3, 2022.  He was the loving husband of Sharon L. (Long) Hastings for 42 years. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of C. Richard and Nancy J. (Long) Hastings of Kirkwood. Besides his wife and parents, Mike is survived by his sons, Ryan M. (Brett) Hastings of Peach Bottom, Brandon M. (Amanda) Hastings of Quarryville, and Jordan M. Hastings of Holtwood; granddaughters, Hannah, Camryn, and Dawsyn; and brothers, Bryan (Carla) Hastings of Kirkwood, and Tom (Debbie) Hastings of Peach Bottom. Mike was a 1979 graduate of Solanco High School.  He was a dedicated employee with PennDOT for the past 13 years, most recently as a foreman. Mike was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons.  Mike was in his element when he was in the woods and by the water.  He looked forward to the yearly family trips to the OBX, fishing from sunup to sundown, and spending quality time with his family and friends.  Mike was a devoted fan of all Philadelphia sports teams as well as Penn State sports. Mike took great pride in his garden, spending countless hours making sure Sharon had all the produce she needed for summer canning. Mike is loved and will be greatly missed by all. A Celebration of Life for Mike will be held at the convenience of the family and at a later date.
