Mary B. Hoover, age 89 of Christiana, PA passed away at Newport Meadows under Hospice care on Sunday, December 24th, 2023. She was the wife of the late Jacob Hoover Jr. with whom she celebrated 59 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2013. She was born in Fulton Twp., Lancaster Co., the daughter of the late Emmanuel F. & Ruth (Neidlinger) Brown. She grew up in Downingtown, Chester Co. and graduated from Downingtown High School. She was a member of Georgetown United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Also, a life member of Bart Twp. Fire Co. Aux. and Solanco Senior Center. A homemaker until her children were raised, she then worked at Strasburg Soda Fountain & Strasburg Railroad. She retired as the manager of the Sweets & Treats Shop at Strasburg Railroad in 2004. She enjoyed crocheting and made countless items for family, friends, and various charities.

She is survived by 4 children: Judy A. wife of Marvin J. Caskey, Jr. of Port Allegany, Stanley J. husband of Pamela S. (Dings) Hoover of Christiana, Susan H. wife of Dennis W. Fromm of Christiana, Michael F. husband of Debra A. (Frackman) Hoover of Paradise, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren. A sister-in-law Linda Brown and a brother-in-law Marty Ness. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson: Bailey Ray Caskey and 7 siblings: Betty Grubb, Virginia Clasky, Helen Bishop, Sarah Gentile, Charles T. Brown Sr., Grace Brown & Mildred "Jean" Ness.

Funeral service will take place from the Shivery Funeral Home, 111 Elizabeth Street, Christiana, PA on Thursday, December 28th at 10 a.m. with Barbara McCardell & Pastor Linda Harnish officiating. There will be a viewing at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Georgetown Methodist Cemetery.
