Martha T. Gibbs of Kirkwood, PA died peacefully surrounded by her family and friends the morning of December 5th, 2014.She was the beloved wife of Donald W. Gibbs for thirty eight years and mother of cherished son, Ashley B. and his wife Lauren.

Born in Olney, MD she resided in Fulton, Howard County.She attended St. Mary's College in Saint Mary's, MD and received her B.A. at the University of Maryland in College Park.She taught second grade for 7 years at Clarksville Elementary.

Upon moving to PA after her marriage on October 16, 1976, she worked in her husband's optometry practice for many years and also substitute-taught at Bart Colerain Elementary.

She enjoyed gardening, the beach, family vacations and reading.An active member of the church community, she attended Wesley Methodist in Quarryville.

Friends may pay their respects at Reynolds Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Monday, December 8th from 6:30pm-8:00pm.Funeral Services will be at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1104 Kirkwood Pike, Quarryville, PA on Tuesday, December 9th at 10:00am. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Fulton, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Wesley building fund or the ALS Association.
