Marsha Gail Wright, 72, formerly of Waxhaw, NC, died after a brief battle with terminal cancer on October 17, 2022. She was born on July 25, 1950, to Rev. David P. and Doris Nan (Wynkoop) Wright. After her diagnosis, Marsha's desire was to move to Paradise, PA to be close to her family during her remaining time.
Marsha grew up in Ocean City, NJ from the age of four and was a 1970 graduate of OCHS. Marsha graduated with an Associate Degree in Applied Sciences from the Atlantic County Community College, NJ, and completed several correspondence certificates through the Moody Bible Institute.
Marsha served under three different missionary organizations including Wycliffe Bible Translators for 25 years from which she retired in 2019. During her years with Wycliffe, she faithfully and graciously worked in a variety of positions in the Wycliffe headquarters in Huntington Beach, CA and joined the move to Orlando, FL. Marsha enjoyed her church fellowship at Hermon Baptist Church where she faithfully sang in the choir since moving to the Wycliffe Retirement Center in Waxhaw, NC. Marsha was very clear on her purpose and direction in life as she faithfully served her savior Jesus Christ.
Marsha is survived by three siblings, Robert P. Wright of Willow Grove, PA, Vernon D. married to Lois A. (Schieber) of Paradise, PA, and Sally E. Wright of Warrington, PA. Marsha enjoyed family visits in Pennsylvania in summers and on holidays that included her nephew Aaron (married to Kenzie), and three nieces Amy Hermanns (Sean), Brittany, and Jennifer. She considered seeing her three great nieces, Maddie, Sienna, and Camille a real joy.
Pastor Ron Schmidt will officiate a celebration of life for Marsha at Davisville Church, 325 Street RD, Southampton, PA on Friday, October 28 at 3:00PM. The family can be greeted beginning at 2:30PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are encouraged to Wycliffe Bible Translators, 11221 John Wycliffe Blvd, Orlando, FL 32832, or through their website.
