Marie D. Brown, 95, formerly of Quarryville, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Susquehanna Valley Nursing and Rehab Center in Columbia, PA. She was the wife of Robert D. Brown, who passed away in 1985.
Born in Centralia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Stutz.
She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy A. Boas, wife of Gerald T. of Columbia, PA, 3 granddaughters, Andrea LaFrance, of Florida, wife of David, Kristen Chant of Quarryville, and Kimberlee Charles, of Virginia, wife of Rob. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, Brittanie, Emily, Buddy, Jordan, Jeffrey, Caleb, and Sydney. She was preceded in death by a great grandson, Connor, who is in Heaven waiting to take her on a motorcycle ride!She is also survived by a great-great-granddaughter, Sophia, and 2 sisters, Theresa Consevage of Sandusky, Ohio, and Kathryn Dorgan of Mt. Carmel, PA.She was preceded in death by 5 siblings.
Marie ("Nanny") as she was affectionately called by her granddaughters, had excellent treatment at SVNRC and was very loved by the staff and other residents there.She loved playing Bingo and all of the activities they had to offer.She often called herself one of the "recycled teenagers" and she loved passing out the yarn angels to everyone.She will be truly missed by all of them.
Before she went to SVNRC, she was a loyal member of the Solanco Senior Center in Quarryville and she often referred to it as her "second home". She enjoyed walking and was often seen taking her walks down Hollow Road in New Providence.Even when she had to start using a walker, she would take walks at the Senior Center.
Her smile and positive attitude were contagious and she will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Reynolds Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM., with Pastor Dwight Lefever officiating.
