Marguerite "Peg" O. Reardon, 95, of Willow Street, PA, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Q.P.R.C., Quarryville, PA.She was the widow of the late James B. Reardon who passed away in 1997.
Marguerite taught elementary school for 36 years.Her teaching career started with the Penn Manor School District from 1938-1940, then with the Solanco School District from 1940-1964, and then back to Penn Manor from 1964 until her retirement in 1974.She was a graduate of the former Quarryville High School, where she had been the class reunion organizer for the class of 1935. Marquerite then earned her B.S. from Millersville State College in 1947.
She was a member of Willow Street U.C.C..She was also a member of King's Daughters & Sons, and a member of P.A.S.R.
Marguerite was a past president of West Willow Seniors.Her free time was spent enjoying her family, cross stitching, crocheting, knitting and doing ceramics.She was an avid card player and belonged to several card clubs.
Marguerite was born in Fulton Twp., a daughter of the late Granville and Ethel Pierce Overly.
She is survived by her sister, Connie married to Sam T. Groff of Peach Bottom, PA,brother,Donald married to Jene Lee Overly of Lancaster, PA. and many nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Mildred Baldwin and Anne Joretta Overly.
The Funeral Service will be held at Willow Street U.C.C., 2723 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Ron Bohannon officiating.There will be a reception at the church immediately following the funeral service where friends may visit with the family.The burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Lancaster.Please omit flowers.
