March 20, 1953 – February 18, 2025
Mahlon Stanley King, age 71 of Washington Boro, kicked off his cowboy boots and flew out the door to follow Christ his King on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Susan Hurst King. He grew up in Atglen, son of the late Mahlon S. and Agnes (Wingard) King. He graduated from Octorara High School, and enjoyed a career as a truck driver and lime-spreader. He enjoyed hiking, hunting, fishing, downhill skiing, baseball, and spending time with his grandchildren. A loyal follower of Jesus, remembered for going on long drives, unpredictable surprises, and returning with gifts and stories for those he loved. He left many tracks at the King Hunting cabin in Potter Co. Surviving besides his wife are 3 children: Emiley (Matthew) Rodak of Washington Boro, John Phillip (Heidi) King of Ithaca, New York, George (Anne) King of Missoula, Montana, 8 grandchildren, and 2 brothers: Arnold (Pat) King of New Holland, and Aldus (Judy) King of Gap.
Funeral service will take place at East Chestnut Street Mennonite Church, 432 E Chestnut Street, Lancaster, PA 17602, on Tuesday, February 25th at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in the Lancaster Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mennonite Disaster Service.
