Lucy E. Genkinger

Lucy E. Genkinger, 96, formerly of Strasburg, and Leola died January 1, 2017at Landis Homes where she was residing. She was the widow of Benjamin M. Genkinger who died on September 6, 1993. Born in Bart Township, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Janette Ortalano Digiamberdini.
Lucy was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg and a former member of the Strasburg Senior Citizens.
During WWII she was employed by Armstrong for 10 years,she then worked for the Lampeter Strasburg School District in the cafeteria, and in retirement for Village Greens Golf Course in Strasburg.
Surviving her is a daughter, Kathy A. wife of Leonard J. Shreiner of Leola; 2 grandsons, Brent and Brad; 1 great grandson, 3 step great grandchildren; and 5 step great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Frank Digiamberadini and Louie Digiamberadini; and a sister Mary Digiamberadini.
Traditional burial at Georgetown United Methodist Cemetery will be private.
