Lois E. Mellinger

Lois E. Mellinger, age 87, of Lititz, formerly of Strasburg, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2026, at Landis Homes. Born in West Lampeter, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Mellinger and Bertha Leaman Mellinger Hershey.

Lois worked as a secretary for LB Herr & Sons, Diamond Cabinets and Meridian Products. She graduated from Lancaster Mennonite High School, cast of 1956. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg, where she spent much of her free time volunteering. She served as a deacon and leader of the Deborah Circle, sang in the choir, helped at the Welcome Center, and participated in Presbyterian Women.

She is survived by Sister: Martha (Willard) Martin of West Virginia, sister-in-law Lucy Mellinger Ross (Richard), brother-in-law Mervin Myer (Amanda), step-sister Helen Kreider. She is preceded in death by Brother Harold Mellinger, Sister Erma Shirk and brother-in-law Enos Shirk, Sister Ellene Myer, nephews John Jacob Shirk and John Myer, and 6 step-brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 101 S. Decatur St., Strasburg, PA 17579, on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. The Reverend Robert Bronkema will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice and Community Care, PO Box 4125 Lancaster PA, 17604. Arrangements entrusted to Murray Miller.
