Lois L. Feister

Lois L. Feister, age 89, of Paradise, passed away at the Lancaster General Hospital on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.  She was the wife of Gordon C. Feister, with whom she celebrated 70 years of marriage on July 11th.  She was born in Lebanon, daughter of the late Harper L. & Bertha Jenkin Steckbeck.  Lois was a passionate follower of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  She boldly shared that faith with all.  She left a great legacy of faith, dignity and grace.  She was a dedicated prayer warrior for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was a member of Lancaster First Assembly of God, where she played piano since the age of 16 for the last 74 years. Lois worked at the Bart, Kinzers and Lancaster Post offices, starting as a clerk and then as the Transportaion Secretary at the Lancaster Post Office retiring in 1993 after 30 years.  She graduated from Hempfield High School class of 1952.  Her passion was music, she enjoyed playing the piano and had trained under Earl Echternach.  She taught piano lessons for many years. She also enjoyed playing the marimba.  Surviving besides her husband are 2 daughters:  LaVonne M. wife of Ronald L. Clark of Quarryville, Marcia L. wife of Timothy A. Hamilton of Lititz, 7 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 3 siblings:  Carolyn Roseberry of Lancaster, Robert Steckbeck of Manheim and Dr. Sharon Nelson of Ephrata.  She was preceded in death by a grandson Joel Hamilton.

Funeral service will take place at the Lancaster First Assembly of God, 1025 Columbia Avenue, Lancaster, PA, on Friday, November 1st at 11 a.m., with a  viewing time from 10 a.m. unitl time of service.  Pastor Paul Boisvert will be officiating.  A private interment will take place in the Georgetown Methodist Cemetery.  shiveryfuneralhome.com
