Lloyd E. Henry, 96, of Lampeter, PA passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. He was the husband of the late Betty Jane Wolfe Henry who died August 4, 2018. Born in Lampeter, he was the son of the late A. Lloyd and Lillian Mae Eshelman Henry.

Lloyd was the oldest living founding member of Lampeter United Methodist Church. He graduated from West Lampeter High School, class of 1948.

Lloyd spent his career with the PA Army National Guard, joining in 1947, where he was employed as a mechanic and reaching the rank of Chief Warrant Officer, retiring in 1989.

He was honored as an 80-year member of the Lampeter Fire Company, joining in 1945 at the age of sixteen. He served as its Chief from 1968 -2002. He was a State Master Fire instructor and helped write the curriculum on fire fighting for Penn State. He was a member of the Lancaster County Fireman's Association.

Lloyd played the trombone and participated with the Twin Roses in Wrightsville, PA.

Surviving Lloyd are three children, Lloyd W. (Nancy) Henry of Lancaster, Robert P. (Sue) Henry of Lampeter, Shirley A. (Edwin) Hess of Strasburg; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Welk.

The family wish to thank his care giver, Joan Spangler, and the staff at QPRC for the excellent care extended to Lloyd.

Funeral services will be held from Lampeter United Methodist Church, 1101 Village Road, Lancaster, PA on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 3:00PM with Rev. Dr. John G. Smith officiating. A viewing will be held from 1:30PM until the time of service. Interment will follow in Willow Street Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Lloyd's memory to the Lampeter Fire Company #1, P.O.
