Obituary

Lillie Mae Johnson, 87, of Gap, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.  Born January 18, 1937 in Jonesville, Lee County, VA, she was the daughter of the late William and Ella Smith Allen.  She shared 55 years of marriage with her husband, Lee Johnson. Together they built a home in Atglen and lived there many years before his death in 2010.  In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Ryan Coates.  She was raised on her parents farm in Virginia and learned to be a hard worker from an early age. Despite living in Maryland & Pennsylvania for many years, she never lost her southern accent which was one of her sweetest attributes.  She worked as a cook for the Gap Diner and Country Gardens Restaurant for many years before her retirement at age 62.  In her free time, she loved quilting and doing word puzzles.  Saved at any early age, she was a member of Safe Harbor Baptist Church in Cochranville and considered many there as her second family.  She is survived by her two daughters, Jeanette, wife of Vince Keagy of Ickesburg, PA and Janice, wife of Buddy Trago of Coatesville, PA.  Also surviving are her son, Clyde and his fiance, April Koch of Gap, with whom she lived for the last 10 years.  She also survived by her grandchildren Stacey Scheuerman (Tom), Christine El Issa (Mo), Jeff Trago (Samantha), John Johnson, Michael Johnson and Christopher Johnson(Tara Sheets), 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Two sisters, Mary Lee Cody and Beulah Haynes (Tom) both of Jonesville, VA.  In addition to many more extended family is one special nephew, Don Johnston (Joanne) of Morristown, TN.  Services are private and at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Lillie's honor to Safe Harbor Baptist Church, 478 Daleville Road, Cochranville, PA 19330.
