"Mike" Trimble
July 14, 1936 – June 2, 2024
Levis A. Trimble, "Mike" 87, peacefully entered rest on June 2, 2024.
He was born on July 14, 1936, in Little Britain Township, Lancaster County to Giles and Helen Trimble. He was the husband of Barbara E. Reed Trimble who preceded him in death in 2004.
He had two daughters, Dawn V. wife of Galen Ross Jr, and Cindy L. wife of Walter C. Hockensmith. He had four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Also surviving him is stepdaughter Dee C. Steele, wife of Ivan Steele and two "bonus" grandchildren, Cameron I. and Braden M. Steele. He is also survived by a sister Jacquelyn, wife of Brian Dunkle, and several nieces and nephews.
A very special companion, Marie Roach, has been in his life for 17 years.
Mike was a member of Mt. Hope U.M.C and attended Memorial U.M.C, both of Quarryville.
He retired with 14 years of service from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, Lancaster as facilities Maintenance Manager and was previously Clerk of the Works of construction projects with Solanco School District. He was a B.O.C.A. code structural inspector for the city of Lancaster. He worked 25 years for area construction companies and 16 of those years as job supervisor with Jos. Lamonaca Contractors of Lancaster.
A member of The Solanco Historical Society, he enjoyed doing research on the Trimble Family and the Scots/Irish history.
During his earlier years, Mike attended Manor/Millersville schools. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953-1956 as a Sargent in the Marine Engineers and was awarded the Good Conduct and the National Defense Medals.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother William G. Trimble.
A funeral service will take place from Little Britain Presbyterian Church, 255 Little Britain Church Road, Peach Bottom, PA 17563 on Saturday June 8, 2024 at 11 a.m. There will be viewing from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Hospice and Community Care, P.O. Box 4125 Lancaster PA, 17604.
