Kenneth Samson
Roberts
October 9, 1932 – November 19, 2025
Kenneth Samson Roberts, 93, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Ware Presbyterian Village in Oxford, PA.
He is survived by his son Stephen K. Roberts (Sara); daughters Glenda M. Reynolds (Charles), Melissa E. Watson (Frank), and Stacey A. Floyd (Jamison); seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alona M. Roberts, one older brother and one granddaughter.
Born in 1932 in Milan, PA, Ken was the youngest son of the late Glenn and Clara Roberts. He was raised in Milan and graduated from Athens high school in 1950. In his early years Ken loved to hunt & trap, fish, play basketball, hop freight trains and ice skate on the Susquehanna River. He went to Penn State University and obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He and Alona were married in 1953 and moved to East Smithfield, PA to start their family. Ken owned a small kitchen appliance store which he ran on nights and weekends while he was employed at Sylvania Electric Company. He was a Boy Scout troop leader, went camping with the family, played on horseshoe and croquet leagues and was a volunteer firefighter.
In 1969 the family relocated to Southeastern PA and he worked at H. K. Porter, Inc. in Prospect Park, PA. In 1976 Ken cofounded Wire and Cable Specialties, Inc. in Malvern, PA where he worked until his retirement in 1997.
Ken was a member of the Kennett Square Presbyterian Church and later the Union Presbyterian Church in Kirkwood.
Ken had a fantastic sense of humor and was quite a practical joker. He loved making prize-winning Halloween costumes for his kids and was on a bowling league for many years. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Flyers and Sixers fan and passed down his love of Philly sports to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He kept himself busy in retirement by doing numerous projects around the house and caring for Alona in her later years. Above all, Ken enjoyed spending time with his ever-growing family and cherished them all.
Ken's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Ware Presbyterian Village and to Willow Tree Hospice for the care they provided.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at a later date.
