Julie L. Appel, 54, of Drytown Road, Holtwood PA passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Lancaster General Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.She and her husband, Richard L. Appel celebrated 28 years of marriage.Born in Lancaster she was the daughter of Joan Marie Bogert Byers and the late John Richard Byers, Sr.
Julie had been employed as a baker at Millersville University and retired after 35 years of service.
She was a proud mother and grandmother who enjoyed her birds, gardening, and traveling on family vacations.
Surviving beside her husband and mother is a son Scott R. husband of Jessica M. Appel of Millersville; a granddaughter Lilian Rose; and 3 siblings, John Byers, Jr., Jean Garrman, and Jeff Byers.
Funeral services will be held at Bethesda United Methodist Church, 1086 Hilldale Road, Holtwood, PA on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 6:00PM with Rev. Joel DeVinney officiating.Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.A viewing will be held at the church from 5:00PM until the time of service.
